Gearoid Coakley’s Wild Atlantic Way Exhibition Now On Display at Powerscourt Centre
Gearoid Coakley is a landscape photographer from Dublin who has completed a two year project to photograph the length of the Wild Atlantic Way. This is his second major exhibition , the first being the mountains of Ireland. The introduction of the Wild Atlantic Way was for him the perfect opportunity to explore the Atlantic coast of Ireland. He purchased an old camper van and has been back and forth with his cameras ever since.
Much of the Wild Atlantic Way is still relatively unspoiled and in places you can be alone in nature -yours the only footprints on the beach. As you may notice many of his landscapes are taken where mankind’s influence is minimal, if not absent altogether.
Carefully managed, the Wild Atlantic Way is a great avenue for exploration and he hopes you you can get a flavour of what is in store for anyone who travels its path.
