Mark Grehan of The Garden will host a floral Christmas workshop at Ballynahinch Castle on Saturday 8th December. Whether you are a keen amateur florist or passionate about creating elegant festive arrangements for your own home, this festive floral workshop will inspire and delight you.
Much of the inspiration for each guest’s festive designs will be found from the surrounding environment, as Mark will lead you on a foraged walk in the morning exploring the estate grounds to forage and gather foliage, branches & wild bounty. Using holly, bracken, fir, and a selection of other yuletide blossoms, guests will return home with their very own piece of Connemara to hang in their home this Christmas.
As the fire roars in the beautifully tranquil Lettery Lodge, relax and get creative during the workshop starting at 11am with a break in the afternoon for festive afternoon tea served in the castle. Returning to Lettery for a further two-hour workshop in the afternoon, finishing at 4.30pm.
Mark Grehan established The Garden located in Powerscourt Townhouse six years ago, beginning his illustrious career as a landscape designer while training to become a florist. Mark says “I’m delighted to be back at Ballynahinch Castle this festive season as Connemara is my childhood home. The walled garden and spectacular surrounding landscape is the perfect inspirational backdrop for this workshop.”
The four-hour floral workshop is priced at €85pp including afternoon tea.  An overnight stay including the workshop and breakfast starts from €175 per person sharing.
To book your place, call +353 95 31006 or email info@ballynahinch-castle.com.

The Great Street Award was won by South William Street in Dublin, ahead of Argyle Street and Kirkgate in Leeds. South William Street won, as it has demonstrated an inherited flexibility and a creative use of the past. “The street has consistently had to reinvent itself and each reinvention has added layers of richness and delight to the street’s special place in Dublin. The small grain of development allows start-up businesses to flourish and the supportive nature of the business community has encouraged growth” stated Alistair Barr Academy of Urbanism, lead assessor.

We are proud here at the Powerscourt Centre to partner with Centra in supporting the Irish Cancer Society for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, where we have unveiled a Pink Rose Installation on the ground floor.

The Installation was created using 3,100 roses, representing the number of people that would be told they have breast cancer this year.

If you stop by the wall, share a picture and use the hashtag #CentraScentsMakeSense, Centra will donate €1 for every pic to the Irish Cancer Society.

The inaugural Irish Independent Retail Awards 2018 welcomed over 150 guests at the Crowne Plaza Dublin Airport Hotel, on Monday 1st October, in a first attempt to reward Irish independent retailers for serving and enhancing our communities, which saw Chupi announced as the independent jewellery store of the year.

At the tender age of 21, Chupi Sweetman was scouted by Topshop from her first year in college as the youngest designer to ever work for the company. She went from a student to a serious designer overnight. However, after a six-year career in fast-fashion, Chupi wanted to create something that lasted forever and celebrated Ireland’s incredible design heritage, and so in April 2013 ‘Chupi’ the brand was born.

The team of 23 talented individuals ship the beautiful pieces to 64 countries around the world and have gone from an Irish startup to an internationally adored brand.

Irresistibly drawn to wild and natural things, Chupi’s designs are inspired by the imperfect natural beauty of feathers, twigs and leaves complemented by the sparkliest diamonds and gemstones. All of their precious jewellery is handmade with love in Ireland with ethical gold and conflict-free diamonds.

Just 2 years ago Chupi at Atrium opened on the top floor of the Powerscourt Centre.
